MurderArt Entertainment is a new project label from the band called Portrait Of Murder . This label started since 1/26/2008 We're based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our motif here is to build-up back this community/scene, and to collect all the new local talent/band under one roof. Most of our genre here is Metal/Hardcore/Deathcore/Grind/Crust/EmoCore.

We prefer those genre, but we still looking other genre/band like Indie/Punk/Grunge/Alternative or anything are good for us. We're not prejudice!!!! We know, there's so many good band in Malaysia lately, especially in our Underground scene. The scene is getting bigger, so many outstanding band, some's of the band are not expose or never get a chance to proof their talent!!!! We here to take part to make this scene more happening. Portrait Of Murder(r.a.d.i.k.a.l) are back from r.i.p we started in the end of years 2005, before this, we used R.A.D.I.K.A.L as a band name. that time we're play a sort of screamo/punx/post-hardcore. after a few time, we face the hard-time in our band, we struggle to make this band alive,.... we recruits a new line-up, and change the genre of our music. and change our band name in the end of year 2006. now, our band known as portrait of murder..... we play metal+hardcore, at the same time we blend our music with melodic style guitar sound and emotional lyrics.... now, just to make our music kill the people out there and make their ass-hole burn up!!!! 2008 are the new beginning of portrait of murder, xbenx are back to replace diman, portrait of murder now are more energetic than before!!!! More Headbaging + Mosh!!!! Don't miss our show guys!!!! See u guys at the mosh-pit!!!!

What is Straight Edge?

The short answer is that it is a subculture centered around hardcore music. People who are straight edge do not smoke, do drugs or consume alcohol.

The long answer requires a bit of a history lesson

In the late 1970s and early 1980s a group of bands and kids began something that grew into a movement. It would become a movement that would outlive many of their involvement in the music and the scene. They didn't know what they were doing. They knew they didn't like what was going on around them, the self destruction, the self hatred, the pain and suffering caused by the punk mentality. The fuck you and fuck the world attitude didn't make sense to them. They took a symbol that was originally used to identify them as being too young to drink so that the bartenders would know not to serve them and they made it their own. So they started setting themselves apart by wearing X's on their hands and by singing angry songs proclaiming:

"I'm a person just like you
But I've got better things to do
Than sit around and fuck my head
Hang out with the living dead
Snort white shit up my nose
Pass out at the shows
I don't even think about speed
That's something I just don't need

I've got the straight edge"

Minor Threat wrote this song in 1980 and a name was given to what would become a movement. The basic beliefs that drugs and alcohol were not needed and should be rejected. That one should live against the grain of popular society and live by rules and standards from themselves and not the ones dictated by society.
