Duromine is a product containing Phentermine as an active ingredient. Phentermine is a stimulant that is similar to an amphetamine. It is combined with a resin which slowly releases the phentermine so that the effect of Duromine lasts all day.
Duromine is used to reduce body weight in obese or overweight patients.
It is recommended that Duromine should be used as a part of an overall weight management plan which include healthy diet regimen and exercise program.
Duromine is only available with a doctor’s prescription. This medication is sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
The active ingredient of Duromine is Phentermine.
Phentermine is an appetite suppressant. It works by directly affecting the area of the brain that controls your appetite making you feel less hungry.
In adults and children over 12 years old, the usual dose of Duromine is one capsule daily in the morning. The recommended starting dose is 30mg daily and the maintenance dose is 15-30mg daily depending on responsiveness .
Your doctor will tell you if Duromine 30mg, Duromine15mg or Duromine 40mg is the correct dosage for you. Follow your doctor’s instruction exactly and never change the dose yourself. Increasing the dose may not necessarily make you lose more weight faster. However you will most likely experience more side effects.
It is advised to take Duromine at breakfast time so that it does not keep you awake at night. Duromine capsules should be swallowed whole and with plenty of water. Do not crush, chew , break or open the capsules. It is specially made to release medicine slowly in the body. Breaking or opening the pill would cause too much of the drug to be released at one time.
You may have withdrawal symptoms when you stop using this medication after using it over a long period of time. Do not stop using this medication suddenly without first talking to your doctor. You may need to use less and less before you stop the medication completely.
Do not take Duromine in the evening because it may cause difficulty in sleeping (insomnia).
Inform your doctor and pharmacist of the following:
Other than that:
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at your next scheduled time.
Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. If you forget to take your Duromine dose at breakfast, take it no later than lunchtime.
Alternatively, skip the dose you missed and take your next dose at the normal time on the next day. If you take Duromine any later than lunch-time you may have trouble sleeping at night.
Never take a double dose to make up for a dose you have missed.
Side effects of Duromine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, an unpleasant taste, hives, impotence, palpitations, high blood pressure, and fast heart rates (palpitations).
Central nervous system side effects include hyperactivity, insomnia, restlessness, tremor, and dizziness.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible

This year, Earth Hour has been transformed into the world’s first global election, between Earth and global warming.
For the first time in history, people of all ages, nationalities, race and background have the opportunity to use their light switch as their vote – Switching off your lights is a vote for Earth, or leaving them on is a vote for global warming. WWF are urging the world to VOTE EARTH and reach the target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.
This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to make their voice heard.
Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.
In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday.
We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations.
VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour.
